KRYS KRYSZKIEWICZ– Australian Surrealist Artist

Born in 1953. As a young boy, he already showed great artistic talent.

A bitumen road became Krys’s first large canvas. A government initiative to encourage young artists saw hundreds of children chalk 2m x 2m drawings on

the road. Miles ahead was Krys who won the 1st prize award three years consecutively

in 1967-68-69.

Highly respected for his portrait ability his drawings adorned the halls of his school.

Krys had other talents to draw on including speed skating, writing poetry and music; playing guitar and banjo. He was conscripted into Polish Navy Representative Orchestra

where he became an accomplished musician with a taste for travel.

He emigrated to Australia in 1981 and continued drawing and painting purely

for family and friends. After moving to oil on canvas he has been

diligently perfecting his technique.

Krys says “my heart speaks to you through my paintings; they are smooth,

clean and crisp.”

Vibrant, rich colors are complimented by the finest of brush strokes revealing

a smooth  finish free of texture. The detail can be examined under a magnifying

glass only to reveal the same level of clarity his paintings do from a distance.

Unique and nothing short of breathtaking these paintings are well worth inspecting.

Krys’s paintings can be found in private possessions in Australia, UK and Poland.

Krys was also engaged in a project for the church “Our Lady of Victories” at Bowen Hills and created religious-themed paintings, which are now in possession of the church.
